You are one! I surely can't believe it. I'm a little late in writing this update because I'm still recovering from throwing your "Cute as a Button" first birthday party! I'm not going to write you a long sappy letter for your one year update because I already did that here.
What I am going to do is talk about how much you have changed in the last four weeks. I guess you knew your birthday was approaching and you would no longer be considered a baby because you definitely don't act like one anymore. You are talking more than ever before. It's not just mama, dada, buh-bye. It's full on babbling with a few words here and there. When your BFF Boa (dog) is here you talk to her all day. You are walking everywhere now, sometimes even running. You still fall down often, we call you our drunk monkey since you stumble all over the house (you can ask your dad what that means when you're 18). You are also an ALL STAR climber. You will push your toys over to the couch, climb up on them to get on the couch. It never works but you keep trying everyday.
You have been teething a lot this month. You have 4 teeth and a few more are on their way, I can feel them. Some days teething doesn't bother you at all. Others, I can't leave your sight without a major meltdown. You are also a little stubborn, but that's okay. I am too =-). If you don't get what you want, you get upset and let us know you're not happy. We try to hide some things from you that you can't have but can never outsmart you. Once your mind is set there is no going back.
Since I'm writing this letter a little late, I'll talk about the things have changed since you turned one! You started drinking milk and absolutely hated it. We tried organic soy milk since you still have a dairy allergy. You took a sip and made a sour face immediately. Then, you threw the cup at me. I tried to give it to you a few more times and the cup came flying back each time. I tried vanilla soy milk the next day and you did a bit better. You barely drink an ounce but I know we will get there...eventually. Because of this transition or lack thereof, you are still nursing 3 times a day. You no longer have your bumper in your bed (after you tried to use it to climb out of your crib) and you no longer wear your snuza (big step for mom). You also no longer sleep in your sleep sack. Lots of big girl changes happening around here. I laid you down the other night and you took up half of your crib, you looked so big to me. As much as I miss the baby days, I love watching you grow and the age you're at. You are not only a ball of energy but you're a ball of joy.
If I had to pick one of my favorite things from this month it's your love of reading. This makes the teacher in me very proud. You will go pick up a book, bring it to me (or your dad or anyone else who is here) and sit in our lap for us to read to you. It's the moment I look forward to each day!
We love you sweet girl, to the moon and back.

Funniest moment this month: The other night you started doing weird things with your hands. Kind of like someone using glow sticks at a club (again ask your dad) but you thought it was the funniest thing and so did we. Honestly there is something funny every single day where I yell to your dad to come watch what you're doing. I love this about you!
